How to Receive God’s Promises by Faith

We receive God’s nature as we believe and take hold of His promises for our own personal lives.  We do not receive physical healing until we believe that God heals us, we do not receive salvation until we believe we are saved.

“For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” (2 Cor 1:20)

“Do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Heb 6:12)

“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.” (Heb 11:33)

We receive God’s nature as we believe and take hold of His promises for our own personal lives. We do not receive physical healing until we believe that God heals us, we do not receive salvation until we believe we are saved.

As believers we constantly need to find God’s promises in the Bible and appropriate these to our lives through our believing.

Six Steps to Receive God’s Promises by Faith

1. FIND THE SCRIPTURES WHICH PROMISE YOU WHAT YOU NEED OR DESIRE:

"If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (John 15:7)

“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God” (Rom 10:17 )

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. {15} And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him”. (1 John 5:14-15)

2. BY FAITH CLAIM THE PROMISES YOU NEED OR DESIRE:

"Ask, and it will be given to you; For everyone who asks receives" (Mat 7:7-11)

“Yet you do not have because you do not ask.” (James 4:2)

3. BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS GIVEN YOU WHAT YOU ASKED FOR:

Have faith in God. Mk.11:22

"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them". (Mark 11:24)

"Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom". (Luke 12:32)

Believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; (2 Chr 20:20)

Trust in Him at all times, (Psa 62:8)

4. BOLDLY CONFESS WHAT YOU HAVE BELIEVED AND CLAIMED BY FAITH

We always receive what we say or confess.

“But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach):” (Rom 10:8)

"For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says”. (Mark 11:23)

“And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak,” (2 Cor 4:13)

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Heb 10:23)

5. ACT ON YOUR FAITH

“Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2:17)

“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves” .(James 1:22)

6. HOLD FAST TO YOUR BELIEF AND CONFESSION OF FAITH REGARDLESS OF CIRCUMSTANCES

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (Heb 10:23)

“For we walk by faith, not by sight”. (2 Cor 5:7)

“Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding” (Prov 3:5)

“that you do not become sluggish, but imitate those who through faith and patience inherit the promises”. (Heb 6:12)

“Fight the good fight of faith”, (1 Tim 6:12)
