Why Read the Bible?

I received this today in my email &
thought it was a very good read & explaination

"There are some days that I just don’t ‘feel’ like even opening my
Bible."  That quote comes not from an email or letter, but from yours
truly.  If you were to be honest, would you agree with me?  There is
power in reading the Word of God that is beyond understanding, and
the Enemy will throw every obstacle in the way to try and keep you
from the Word.

Why read the Bible?
 "I pray that out of His glorious riches he may strengthen you with
 power through your Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may
 dwell in your hearts through faith.  And I pray that you, being
 rooted and established in love, may have all power, together with
 all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the
 love of Christ."  Ephesians 3:16-18

We learn God by reading His Word.  When you read any of the books
Charlyne and I have written,  you would learn about us, but you would
not learn us.  The Bible is different from any other book that has or
ever will be written.  The Bible is God’s Word.  When we read it, the
Holy Spirit will give His application to each of us.  God wants us to
"have power" and "to grasp… the love of Christ."  He does not want
His followers to be powerless, always questioning His love and concern
for us or our families.

We had been online for three years, but I was still unable to add a
signature to our outgoing email. I had tried many times, but always
missed one step. A friend pointed me in the right direction. There
were plain-and-simple directions in my system all the time. Once I
read the directions, it was an easy task to add our email signatures.

Is your stand for a healed family much like my email?  You are working
on it, but there’s a step missing.  If so, I want to refer you to the
direction Book for all of life: The Holy Bible.  If each of us spent
as much time in the Word as we did online, God would soon be adding
His signature to our lives:

 "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance
 the Lord will bring you today."  Exodus 14:13

Father, in the mighty name of Jesus I pray for those who will receive
this message.  May You use the stumbling words of man to bring your
children into your Word.  Encourage the one most discouraged, meet
every need, and Lord, I pray that you will bring prodigal husbands
and wives, sons and daughters back home and restore families.  Amen

What does the Bible do?
The Word of God upholds, orders our steps, produces joy, strengthens,
gives hope to the hopeless, gives light, gives understanding, builds
up, produces fruit, convicts of sin, shows us God’s will, converts the
soul, cleanses the conscience, and consecrates the Christian.

A sermon in a sentence-
"Bibles that are falling apart unsually belong to people who are not."
